Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The International Journal of Theoretical & Applied Computational Intelligence (IJTACI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. Our editorial policies are aligned with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and reflect best practices in scholarly publishing. We expect all parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers—to adhere to these ethical principles.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cites the work of others. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism or duplicate submission, is unethical and unacceptable. - Multiple or Redundant Publication
Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal. Submitting the same work to multiple venues is unethical. - Authorship of the Paper
Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the research and writing should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final version and agree to its submission. - Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of all sources of data, support, and funding must be made. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their research. - Correction of Errors
If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication, authors are obligated to promptly notify the journal and cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper
Responsibilities of Editors
- Fair Play
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, relevance, and originality, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, or nationality. - Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and relevant editorial members. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest. - Decision Making
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final decision on manuscripts and ensures that decisions are based on the paper’s academic merit and relevance.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share or discuss them with others. - Objectivity
Reviews must be conducted objectively and provide constructive feedback without personal criticism. - Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and alert the editors of any potential ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or duplicate publication. - Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions.
Handling of Misconduct
IJTACI takes all allegations of ethical misconduct seriously. In cases of suspected ethical violations (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification), the editorial team will initiate an investigation and follow COPE guidelines to resolve the issue. If misconduct is confirmed, actions may include manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, notification to institutions, and a ban on future submissions.
Retraction Policy
Articles may be retracted in cases of proven scientific misconduct, significant error, or legal violations. A retraction notice explaining the reason for the withdrawal will be published and linked to the original article.
Ethical Oversight
All research involving human participants or animals must comply with institutional and international ethical guidelines. Authors must include statements of ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.
